About Karwan-e-Hira
A Legacy of Faith, Service, and Dedication Since 1670
In the month of Ramzan, 1670 A.D., during the reign of Emperor Abul Muzaffar Muhammad Aurangzaib Alamgir, while staying at Lahore en route to Agra, the family of the Chief Executive and Directors embraced Islam. They obtained Islamic education from renowned scholars like Hazrat Mia Meer of Lahore. On Hazrat Mia Meer’s recommendation, the Emperor granted them the license to manage Hajj and Umrah Karwans, ensuring comfortable journeys for pilgrims traveling from India to Makkah and back.
The license included the arrangement of passage through ships, camel caravans, and on foot. Such knowledge and experience of management related to Hajj and Umrah services were gained by the family and passed down generation to generation. At present, the Chief Executive and the directors represent the 5th Generation providing Hajj and Umrah services, applying centuries-old experience for management and comfort.

From ancient routes to trusted pathways, preserving the tradition of safe and efficient pilgrimages.
Our History
The forefathers of Karwan-e-Hira laid the foundation for Hajj and Umrah journeys by hiring ships from the East India Company at Surat Sea Port. Pilgrims traveled through Ghazi Ghat to KT Bandar Thata via the Indus River, continuing by Bad Bani ships to Jeddah. Camel caravans ensured safe and efficient journeys across Harat and Central Asian territories for those traveling on foot.
Modern Services
In 2003, the Government of Pakistan, through the Ministry of Religious Affairs, introduced a scheme to regulate private Hajj Group Organizers (PHGOs). Karwan-e-Hira was registered with a quota of 585 seats and has since provided complaint-free services at competitive rates.
